No weapons against India: Kiwis
RAJKOT: "We have no trump card or secret weapon to unleash," New Zealand coach Ashley Ross said here on Tuesday. "We are a professional side and can adapt to alien conditions," he said. "The conditions in Vizag were different, but that''s how it''d be. These side games are intended to provide us match practice. I only hope that we play the full game here," he said.
Ross when asked to comment on the quality of the opposition in the warm-up games, he said: "It doesn''t matter who the opponents are." The Kiwis were practising in right earnest during the day.
"The facilities are outstanding and I am satisfied with today''s workout," Ross said about the Rajkot Municipal Corporation ground.
New Zealand have undergone intensive preparations for the tour and Ross sounded optimistic of their chances. "The players are high on confidence. We intend to create history in India," he added. Ross dismissed speculations that they will be missing star all-rounder Chris Cairns and paceman Shane Bond.
He further informed that New Zealanders have already embarked on a development programme by sending two young spinners to Sri Lanka.
